Franken-Stitch Cropped Cardigan | Crochet Pattern (Digital PDF) ONLY
You’ve scrolled past a hundred cardigans that all look the same. Clean lines, neutral tones, nothing that actually feels like you. You want something with personality, something a little rough around the edges, something that looks like it crawled out of a gothic novel and somehow ended up in your closet.
Without a pattern that lets you build it your way, you’re stuck choosing between “oversized and shapeless” or “fitted but boring.” And forget finding your size... most patterns top out at an XL and call it inclusive.
The Franken-Stitch Cropped Cardigan is a made-to-measure crochet pattern, which means there are no fixed sizes. You plug in your own body measurements, do a little math with the gauge formula provided, and every panel fits you. Cropped or long. Fitted or oversized. Drop shoulders or standard. Your call.
All panels are constructed side-to-side, and the oversized hood is built directly up from the collar for a seamless fit. Perpendicular ribbing finishes the body, sleeves, and a continuous front-to-hood border.
Then comes the fun part. Optional distressed “runs” give it that torn, lived-in look. And the signature Franken-Stitches (chunky cross-stitch embroidery in a contrasting bulky yarn) make it look like it’s been stitched back together from pieces... because that’s the whole point.
What’s included:
Full written pattern with gauge, swatch instructions, and measurement-to-stitch conversion formulas
Special stitches section with detailed explanations
Step-by-step construction for all panels, hood, ribbing, distressed runs, and Franken-stitch embroidery
Designer’s sample measurements for reference
Construction overview so you know the full build order before you start
